Founder’s Note: A Message from Hezekiah Griggs III
In 2003, I along with some great friends went on a journey to change the face of media. As teens, we recognized the need to have a proactive voice in our country, more importantly, our future.
We embarked on a long journey that would allow us to publish some fantastic products, which included, “Project American Justice” & “Teens Reaching for a Unified Era.” Our message was clear, our goals even more; we wanted to be the change – and we were!
I will never forget the many late nights, the staff meetings that went on and on, the events we attended and stories we covered, meeting Senator Biden now the Vice President of the United States (lol – an experience every American should have), and giving hundreds of teens the opportunity to be the news – while thousands read it.
There is something exciting about doing new and innovative things.
As seasons change, so does our responsibility to sponsor the change within us. HG3media has ended it’s publishing role. As the founder of this company, it is so important for me to continue to see the vision for it’s place in the future. Today, that vision is not clear, our role no longer defined, and the responsibility we carry to deliver a product to the market long past our prime. HG3media must commit to innovate and re-invent, and give ourselves a fresh relevance with the “personal touch” that we are known for.
I have had an unbelievable career as an entrepreneur, and have since founding this company, led and managed many new upstarts, revived some old businesses, and contributed ‘thought-leadership’ to some important projects that I firmly believe as important to the growth of our country, and more specifically, essential to the innovation we need to push the frontier of our future.
It’s been a while. I haven’t been home (HG3media) for a few years, and with new responsibilities at new companies, it will be a while before I return. But, when I do, you can count on the fact that the vision will be clear, the purpose defined, and the future of this company will be in great hands from the start.
To all of our readers, the youth that worked with us and interned, the many executives who dealt with my ‘craziness,’ to the Sponsors and Corporate Partners who made it possible for us to do what we did – at no cost to the readers, to our consulting clients with whom we served: from the bottom of my heart…
Thank You.
Beloved, eventually we will build again.
